Southgate Remembers

On Saturday 10th November Church was open during the day for people to come and pay their respects to those from the various Methodist churches in Elland who fought in the 1914-18 War. As well as the book of Remembrance and a poppy display, there was a multimedia tribute and the Remembrance monuments from the various Methodist churches that have combined to form modern – day Southgate. There was a steady stream of visitors and the tribute was brought to a conclusion with ‘Last Post’ at 3pm. Our Remembrance Weekend continues with a special morning service of Remembrance at 10.30am led by Andrew Jacobs.
